Advanced Audio Rentals Unveils "ProTools HD 2.0"

Another Advanced Audio first, ProTools HD 2.0 is the first ProTools HD system based around the 8-core MacPro and ESATA technology. Utilizing Atto Technology's ESATA host adapters, ProTools HD 2.0 is the first DAW system to offer simultaneous full-track count recording/playback while performing background transfers all within one computer.

Each ProTools HD 2.0 system comes w/12Tb of online and archival storage. The system design take full advantage of inexpensive SATA drive technology. In addition, RAID redundancy gives all online workspace real-time bit-for-bit duplication. This extra fail-safe is a must for all mission-critical tasks. 

Mac OSX 10.5x allows ProTools HD 2.0 to be fully networked offering the same bandwidth as 2gig FibreChannel.

All volume managment tasks can be handled right in the OS. No third party software needed! Each ProTools HD system appears on the network as a node, there is no central RAID array, and thus no controllers trying to manage multiple workstation access.

Add in the Satellite option in Protools 8, and you now have full control over multiple Protools systems from any operator's position, as well as volume administration.

Each MacPro has its' own internal RAID card w/256meg RAM, which helps distributes the workload.
