Advanced Audio upgrades Fox Scoring and Sony Pictures Scoring

Advanced Audio has recently completed upgrades to its' in-house ProTools HD Film Scoring Systems at both Fox Studios and Sony Pictures. One of the main design goals was to keep both facilities 100% compatible. All Protools HD systems installed at both facilities are identical, so clients can seamlessly move from one stage to another without having to worry about I/O mappings changing, CPU/RAM performance differences, and hard drive bay incompatibility, to name just a few.

Here is a brief summarization of improvements that have been made: 

- OS upgrade to OSX 10.6x - big increase in ProTools system performance and stability

- Intel X-25M Solid State Boot Drive - faster boot times, apps more responsive.

- MacPro 2.66 Quad Core - Faster memory bus, PCIe 2.0 backplane helps with transfer times.

- Atto R680 6gb RAID card - doubles throughput when used w/PCIe 2.0 compliant CPU

- Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro video card - allows HD picture to be distributed via HDMI

- Antelope Audio Atomic Master Clock - references the entire room to 10Mhz, eliminates digital locking problems

- Systems are ready for future track count and I/O channel expansion
