Question Title Tascam Digital Dubber Operational Errors
Error Type: Operational
Can't set All Safe while Recording: While currently in record, you cannot select All Safe.
Read-Only Register: An attempt to store into or trim a Read -Only register was denied.
No Length Capture: An attempt to Capture the length register was denied.
Not able to allocate system memory: Crash - we ran out of system memory. The best we
can do is to give you this error message before dying.
Out of RAM!!: Crash - we ran out of system memory. The best we can do is to give you this

Out of Memory: Crash - we ran out of system memory. The best we can do is to give you this
error message before dying.
Out of Audio Memory: Audio memory is drawn from a separate limited pool. The maximum
allowed had been reached and an all-stop is issued. This is due to a high edit density near
the playhead wherever this occurs. Render sections of tracks near the playhead.
Media Too Slow! ( w ): Media is too slow to handle the number of edits and punches
currently near the playhead. The (w) stands for writes, meaning the failure was a result of
writes that were too slow.
Media Too Slow! ( r ): Media is too slow to handle the number of edits and punches currently
near the playhead. The (r) stands for reads, meaning the failure was due to reads that were
too slow.
Audio Underrun: The disk engine processor got too far behind the audio processor. An all-
stop was issued. This should not ever happen unless there is some hardware or internal
software problem.
Backups in Progress, Can't Unmount: A request to unmount was denied because there are
SmartCopies or TapeMode converts that are still active.
Can't Unmount while in Motion: A request to unmount was denied because the transport
was not stopped.
non-existent device or write error: A request to Low format a device at a given SCSI Id
resulted in an error because there was no device actually at the SCSI Id, or there was an
actual write error.
Can't Cleanup while in Motion: A request to cleanup a volume was denied because that
transport must be stopped in order to perform this operation.
Can't Cleanup while Backing Up: A request to cleanup a volume was denied because there
are SmartCopies or TapeMode convert operations performing in the background.
Vol write protected!: A request to select a disk as the record disk was rejected because it is
write-protected.
Vol not for recording: A request to select a disk as the record disk was rejected because it
did not contain a file system suitable for recording.
Non Existent Volume: A request to select a disk as the record disk was rejected because
there was no device present at the specified SCSI Id.
Can't Delete Tracks while in Motion: A request to delete tracks was denied because the
transport must be stopped in order to perform this action and it was not.
Can't Load Backup: A request to lead a backup project or track was denied because that is
not a supported feature. You must first SmartCopy a backup to a random access device
containing a supported file system.
Can't Set Destr Rec while in Motion: A request to turn on TapeMode was denied because
the transport must be stopped in order to turn on tape mode and it wasn't.
No Edits in TapeMode: An edit was rejected because edits are not allowed in TapeMode.
Proj exists, use it?: A request to start a new project resulted in this question. A project with
the requested mane already exists. Answering yes will use that project; answering no will
reject the whole operation.
Sync-2 IdleOn Error: Internal processor to processor communications error.
Sync-2 IdleOff Error: Internal processor to processor communications error.
Not while Recording: A user selected operation was rejected because the operation is not
supported while recording. Retry the operation when not in record.
No Mounted Volumes: A user selected operation was rejected because there are no
mounted volumes. The operation only works when there are volumes mounted.
Can't Start a Backup while in Motion: You cannot start a SmartCopy or TapeMode convert
unless the transport is stopped.
Non-Existent Volume: A SmartCopy or TapeMode convert request was made to a SCSI Id
where no mounted volumes were detected.
NativeVol (exists) failure: An internal flash file is missing or has become corrupt. This can
only be a settings file or the Audio Processor code.
Playlist Internal Error: An internal playlist error has occurred. This indicates some software
data error. This should never be seen.
Import: bc <= 0: This is an internal messaging communications error. This could result from a
bad TL-Bus connector if using the TL-Bus or a remote; or from a bad ethernet cable if using
ViewNet; or from a corrupt settings file.
Import: token high: This is an internal messaging communications error. This could result
from a bad TL-Bus connector if using the TL-Bus or a remote; or from a bad ethernet cable if
using ViewNet; or from a corrupt settings file.
Import: bad length etc: This is an internal messaging communications error. This could result
from a bad TL-Bus connector if using the TL-Bus or a remote; or from a bad ethernet cable if
using ViewNet; or from a corrupt settings file.
Settings Import Error: Settings file is corrupt.
Settings: :ExportSettings.. Import_Export_Error: Internal message transformation error.
Reading Settings Failed!: A settings file is missing or corrupt. Settings files are contained in
the flash.
Settings File Non-Existent!: A request was made to recall a settings file that never existed or
saved. The request failed.
Master OFS must be 0: The CAN offset for the master must be 0. You cannot put an offset
other than 0 to the master.
Invalid channel: An internal message error, a message contained an invalid channel for the
kind of I/O selected.
Inputs unavailable: The chosen Input is unavailable or not installed on this machine.
Source unavailable: The chosen digital stereo input source is not available.
Must be stopped to change Record Type: You cannot change the record file type while the
transport is moving.
Can't change Rec Type in Tape Mode: You cannot change the record file type while in tape
mode. You can turn TapeMode off, and then change the record file type.
Rate conv unavailable: The digital in rate converter, menu number 451, which is only
available on the AES I/O option was chosen but unavailable or not installed on this machine
Mode unavailable: A 96K mode was chosen but unavailable yet.
Reference unavailable: A digital reference was chosen a sample clock reference, but that
digital option was not detected or unavailable.
