Question Title Tascam Digital Dubber Smart Copy Errors
Error Type: SmartCopy
Out of disk Space for Backup: Some internal error has not accounted for all space needed
an a backup Operation has run out of disk space.
Write Error on Backup: Some write error has occurred during a backup - smart copy.
Backup Aborted - File Creation Error: A File creation error has occurred on a backup; the
backup was then internally aborted.
File Creation Error: A File creation error has occurred on a TapeMode convert process. The
process was then internally aborted.
No Mounted Volumes!: An attempt to Set a Track Prefix was rejected because there are no
mounted volumes.
Max # of tracks for proj reached: the maximum number of tracks for a project has been
encountered. No more new tracks are allowed for such a project.
Import to Curr Proj?: When loading tracks from another project into the current project, you
will be prompted with this message. Answering yes will generate a copy of that track and
make that copy a part of the current project. Answering no will not load the track at all.
Vol is Write Protected: The destination volume is write-protected and hence the Delete,
Rename, SmartCopy, Disk Cleanup, or TapeMode Convert, was rejected.
Can't Delete Backup: Backup sets that are actually formatted as MX-2424 backups cannot
be individually deleted. You can Backup Erase the entire media only.
Can only Delete Tracks from one proj at a time: You can only select tracks from one project
at a time for deletion.
Non-Existent Volume: The SCSI Id selected for an operation has no actual disk-tape device-
DVD found with that SCSI id address.
Can't Cleanup this Disk Format: The file format o the disk is not one that can be cleaned
up.
OK to Clear Undo List?: Some operations, such as Cleanup, will require that the Undo
clipboard be cleared. This is a choice for the user. If Yes selected, the undo list will be
cleared, the operation performed. If no chosen, the operation is aborted, the undo list
remains.
Cleanup Aborted: If the user chose no on the above question; then this message will be
displayed, indicating that the cleanup operation was aborted, before anything was ever
deleted
Not to a Backup Device: You cannot TapeMode convert a project to a backup device,
however you can TapeMode convert from a Backup device to a disk.
Conversion Prohibited: If the MX-2424 exported-imported ProTools then you cannot convert
from ProTools to anything else but OMF. This is true with the MMR series.
Track (s) too long for TapeMode conversion: The length from start to end of a track is
greater than the maximum size for a single file on the file system residing on target volume.
Not Enough Space for TapeMode conversion: There is not enough free disk space on the target volume to perform a TapeMode conversion.
Can't Rename Backup: You cannot Rename a backup that is on Tape or a DVD back up
that is formatted as a backup.
Not a writable format: You cannot Rename tracks or projects on this format. Currently since
only OpenTL is supported, you should never see this error message.
Same Destination: A backup project was asked to be restored back onto itself. That is not
allowed with backups to Tape, DVD - backup format.
EraseTape? No=Append: When performing a SmartCopy to Tape or DVD that is backup
formatted, you will be prompted with this message. Answering Yes will erase the tape before
starting the SmartCopy; answering no will append the end of the backup media.
Error erasing Media: There was an error in attempting to erase the backup media.
No backup media: A SmartCopy was requested to a device, but no media was found
present in the device.
OK to erase tape?: When performing a SmartCopy to either a Tape or DVD this question will
arise if user chose to append to unformatted media. Yes will erase media and proceed with
SmartCopy. No aborts operation.
OK to erase DVD?: When performing a SmartCopy to either a Tape or DVD this question will
arise if user chose to append to unformatted media. Yes will erase media and proceed with
SmartCopy. No aborts operation.
Error erasing Backup: An error occurred while attempting to erase the backup media.
Not a Backup Device: The target SCSI id has a non supported device attached.
Insert last tape in set: The user should insert the last tape in a multi-tape backup set.
Insert tape number NN: The user should insert tape number NN in a multi-tape backup set.
Insert last DVD in set: The user should insert the last DVD in a multi-DVD backup set.
Insert DVD number NN: The user should insert DVD number NN in a multi-DVD backup set.
Too many tracks for export type: A request to SmartCopy a project containing more than
the max allowed number of tracks, 1000, was rejected.
Not Enough Space for Backup: A Request to SmartCopy a project to a target volume was
denied because there was not enough free disk space left on the target volume.
Project Creation Error: There was an error when trying to create the Destination project
when performing a SmartCopy.
Overwrite Existing Project: A request was issued to SmartCopy a project to a project name
that already exists at the destination volume. Answering Yes will overwrite the existing project;
answering no will abort the SmartCopy.
Export Aborted: Answering no to the above question will result in this error message.
Disk Copies Complete: Whenever a Rename, SmartCopy, or TapeMode convert is
completely finished, this message is displayed.
Export Aborted by User: A SmartCopy or TapeMode convert was aborted by the user.
Convert/Copy Aborted: A SmartCopy or TapeMode convert was aborted by the user.
Convert/Copy Halted From Errors: A SmartCopy or TapeMode convert was halted due to
other errors.
No Backups Active: This message is displayed if the user requests to Convert-Copy abort
and there are no SmartCopies or TapeMode converts presently active.
Track(s) contains file to large for dest volume: The SmartCopy request was denied
because the source contained a file too large for the file system on the destination volume.
OK to conform xfades?: When exporting to some formats, like OMF, the formats specify that
all crossfades must be symmetrical. Answering Yes to this will automatically make all fades
symmetric doing the best job it can. Answering no, will abort the operation.
EDL not exportable, try TapeMode convert first: Answering no to the above question will
result in this informative message. An alternative is to TapeMode convert a project to a
destination which will render all fades into a single file.
Format not supported on this volume type: An attempt to create a project on a target
volume of a given format was denied because the format is not supported on this volume
type. This would only show up if we supported exporting other EDL formats.
